Jonah: "Mom, you are 38, right?"
Me: "Yes, Mijo, I'm 38."
Jonah: "That means you will be 39 next year, right?"
Me: "Yes, Baby. That's correct."
(10 second silence)
Jonah: "Mom, how did you get to be that old?!?!?"

In children's church, a few weeks ago:
It was object lesson time, and I was using a banana to explain the Trinity (ask me about that if you want to know--it's pretty cool-- much cooler than the egg example). The kids and I were gathered around the table while one of the kids was trying to cut through the banana. We are all looking intently at what is going on .... and then out of the blue, a small voice (JONAH's) says, "Mom, what do I do with this earwax?"
Gross....yes, you read correctly. He had earwax on his finger and did not know what to do with it. I was pretty upset with my kid for disrupting.

Jonah: "Mom, was our house made in China?"
Me: (laughing) "No."
Jonah: "Well, was I made in China?"
Mac: (proudly)"No, boy. You were made in Texas!"
Me: "Yes, Mijo, I'm 38."
