waiting

I don't know what's wrong. My kids haven't done anything for me to blog about (well, I mean anything fit to print). Unless you count the time that I was in my bedroom and someone mysteriously opens the door. A few seconds later, I see a broom peeking in the doorway and a small voice singing, "Baby, Come Back." Jonah thought he was being cute.

On the other hand, my students are making up for it. Yesterday, we were singing songs in honor of Martin Luther King,Jr. On the board, I wrote: "Group Singing: MLK SONGS (Rehearse for Celebration Assembly)"

I got tired after a few classes asked me, "Why are we singing milk songs?"

My 3rd graders were so excited to sing about MLK. They had been studying about him in their classroom. It was obvious which students were not paying attention. These were some of the answers blurted out:

*he was married to a lady named Cricket, or was it Crockett?
*he organized a boycott with Rosetta Stone and it had to do with a bus
*he was a king (actually, one of my kindergartners said that)
