Jonah is required to read to me every night. He usually brings his AR book from school, or else, he will read from a book found at home. Tonight, he didn't have his library book, so he announced that he was going to read from the Bible. He grabbed a New King James Version of the Bible. I told him to go for the children's Bible, instead. Here's our conversation.
Jonah: "No, Mom. I want to read from this one, cuz I want to learn how to read hard words."
Me: "Are you sure? The Children's Bible we have is more on your level."
Jonah: "Yes, Mom, I want to read from this one."
Me: "Okay, if you insist."
Jonah: "Okay" (opening the Bible and looking down at the page he happened to land on) "Shall I read from SONG OF SOLOMON???"
Mac and I busted out laughing and my poor child had no idea why.
By the way, Jonah read Psalm 41 and Genesis 1, tonight. Love my kid.

Yes, God porn rules! He read Genesis 1 and Psalm 41, but how did he do with S.O.S. LOL that is kind of an ironic acronym given the circumstance. :-)
