What a day!

2:00 am -- (yep, early, early) - We heard Jared get up . Apparently, Jared woke up because of the thunderstorm and noisy wind. He knocks on our bedroom door and says, "Dad and Mom, Jonah and I are scared. The wind is making too much noise. Jonah and I are scared!!" Yeah, RIGHT! Mac gets up and walks over to their room, and Jonah is fast asleep.

8:00 am --Mac starts his new job!

12:00 pm -- I get a call from Jonah's school. Jonah spilled water on his clothes and needed a change of uniform. (Bad Mommy, I didn't have extra clothes at the school for him.) ENYWEIS, in the office, they were trying to figure out which parent to call. Jonah informs them, "My Daddy is learning something today." So they called me. I guess learning and going to a new job is the same thing. (Bethany, did I get the story right?)

4:00 pm -- I picked up Kandra and Jonah. I take off, thinking that Jonah has buckled up . He is hanging over the back seat having a great old time. I quickly try to pull over, and he yells, "GO faster!" " Hey, Mom, why did you stop?" I spanked his bottom and buckled him up. Then I hear from the backseat, "Mom, you hurt my feelings." Ugh!

4:15 pm -- I picked up Jared from tutoring. His teacher then told me the JARED STORY OF THE DAY. She mentioned how one of the teachers was working with him earlier. They were doing an activity together, and when they got to Jared, he said, "This is too hard, I don't think I can do this right now." The teacher, knowing well that Jared was capable of doing the assignment, responded, "Jared, are you pulling my leg?" Jared panicked and exclaimed, "No, Ms. G, I didn't even touch your leg!" If you know Jared, you are aware that he takes EVERYTHING LITERAL. No figurative language/idioms around my little guy. We need to work on that.

Jared also acquired a new pet - a bristly caterpillar. The boys were so excited. It was in a plastic bag. On the way home, I could hear them making plans:
- "Hey, Jonah, Jonah, the WORM can sleep with us tonight."
- "Yeah, that will be so cool."
- "Now, Jonah, it will have to sleep by the t.v. , 'cause we might squish it in the bed."
- "Oh, okay."

6:15 -- Hubby is home!!

7:00 -- can't find the caterpillar.

7:10 -- Kandra found it! All is well!
